With the friction winding shaft from Spanntec, materials in narrow-roll format can be produced that are very sensitive in their expansion behaviour and require an exactly constant web tension during the winding process. Through permanent monitoring of the roll diameter, the air pressure in the hose system of the friction winding shaft is controlled and a torque is introduced into the friction rings by the friction strips. Due to the applied web tension, the cores are mechanically clamped with the friction ring until the winding process is completed.
