    Description

This cantilevered friction shaft is ideal for winding materials of varying thickness in narrow-web applications or slitting operations. It is suitable for use on slitter rewinders and in rewinding operations with longitudinal cutting and centre drive, and can be used for cardboard and plastic cores from a nominal diameter of Ø 55 mm.
It utilises ball friction rings that provide mechanical clamping and indirect friction control. The core segments can be easily positioned, and individual web tension control is possible. Furthermore, short setup times save valuable time during operation.

    Characteristics

    • Positioning of the core segments by means of spring-supported balls in the friction rings
    • Steel ball friction rings
    • Axial continuous air supply, regulated depending on web tension and roll diameter
    • Regulated torque transmission via pneumatic expansion of the friction rails
    • Web tension-activated core engagement by the balls of the friction rings in clamping position / direction of rotation
    • Clamping force release via freewheel principle upon web tension relief (counter-rotation)

    Cores

    ≥ 55 mm
